Games not being replayed due to cancellation as a result of injuries sustained to players

Although the League completely understands that there may be a time during the Season when you have a lot of players injured although we can cancel games for this reason the points will be awarded to the opposition. This is not because we do not believe you but unless the League receives medical notes, etc, etc which is clearly completely impractical there is no way of policing this and could be subject to being easily abused.

Suspension of Players for owing kit or money

The League as you are aware will suspend a player from signing for a team if there is kit or money owing to another Club

However I must remind teams that are owed money and kit to inform the Registration Secretaries as soon as possible and not wait until the player has already signed for the next Club. Teams were contacting us two days before the start of the Season saying they had tried to get funds but now wanted suspension put in place. From now on please let the League know as soon as you are aware of outstanding kit and monies. Also please ensure your Club constitution and information to parents CLEARLY shows the expectations on parents re kit and subscriptions if a player decides to leave your Club.

Council Pitches

I have a meeting on Tuesday 17th September 2019 re the new pitches at Central Park and Bond Street. At present games are scheduled on them for the 21st September but we are just checking the sand slitting has permeated into the ground. I was up at the pitches last week and they are better but need to ensure they have become fully embedded. Teams to be informed after the meeting who are scheduled at home.

I have also distributed keys to all Clubs that requested council keys and have the keys ready to distribute for Central Park and Bond Street when we are given the all clear. My thanks to YMCA All Saints and Hope FC from the P and D League for lending their keys whilst we have been waiting for additional ones to be cut.

Please let me know if any additional keys are required. I am aware of Parkway request for additional keys to Manadon Vale.

League Executive Limited Availability

Steve Conteh will not be dealing with any Adrenalin Devon Junior and Minor League business on Monday 16th September 2019.

Brian Rimes has limited access to e mails and telephone from the 16th – 19th September 2019

Low mark form for referees

I attach a new low mark form for referees that will need to be completed if your team awards a mark of 60 or less for a referee.

Forms need to be submitted within four days of the game and need to be sent to Ian Rothwell our Disciplinary and Assistant Referee Officer. His e mail is on the form. We intend to ensure a response is provided re your report within 21 days of receipt of the form so that it makes you aware of the actions taken.

Excellent start to completion of Team Sheets

Steve Conteh has asked me to express his gratitude for all involved with ensuring the first weeks team sheets were completed on time. This is the first time at the beginning of the Season we have not had late team sheets and let us hope this can continue.

For more information re reporting results and implications if not completed see Rule: 21, Page 113 - Reporting of Results

Hit the 5000th Player Registered

Steve informs me that we have just completed the 5000th registration to the League for the forthcoming Season.

Fines for team withdrawals and registration non compliance.

Des O Leary has arrived back into the UK and is catching up on work for the League. Whilst in Australia his laptop failed to work properly and is playing catch up now he is home and has it sorted. There are some fines for registration non-compliance and team withdrawals that will be sent in the next week.

Match Day App

A reminder – if your teams are using the match day app to check online as well to ensure all information including Man of the Match has recorded correctly. Had a couple of instances where it appears not all the information is loading correctly.

Dogs on Private Pitches and School Fields

I have been asked by Activate to remind Clubs that no dogs are allowed on the Eggbuckland school pitches and this does apply to all school pitches and most private pitches within our League. Please ensure parents of your teams are aware of this.

Referee Update

Brian has for the beginning of the Season been struggling to cover the games within the League and this week had more referees unavailable than available. 44 referees officiated this week, many doing two games to help the League out. Brian thinks this will get better as the Season progresses and thanks Clubs for supporting him in getting referees to games. Another seven referees have just qualified and four have already committed to our League.

In terms of new Under 16 referees they are to be issued with a yellow band that goes around their arm to signify they are a young referee. Please note any abuse directed at young referees carries serious safeguarding implications and so please respect the young referees as they learn the skills of officiating.

As always if you know of referees that would be interested in refereeing in our League, especially if they are based in Cornwall can you let Brian Rimes know please.

Under 7 and Under 8 Update

Our Under 7 and Under 8 Development sessions kicked off this weekend at both Plymstock School and Manadon Football Development Centre. I was at Manadon and it was great to hear so many positive comments about the set up and ethos the development sessions are aiming to develop. My sincere thanks go to Justin Coombes for undertaking the role of Fixture Secretary, Phil Cardew, Lewis Coombes and Matt Coates who have worked with me to get these sessions up and running. From 12 teams last year we now have 37 teams involved.

Team Withdrawals

Horrabridge Rangers have withdrawn from the Under 15 Royal Oak Division.
